Share The Inanity

In keeping with the Web 2.0 social networking principle to consolidate all your daily inanity into one easy lobotomy, I have now linked my main site to Facebook.

Posts from the main site will turn up on Facebook, where my friends will receive confirmation that I am still alive without me actually needing to use Facebook (a “win-win”, I think). It will work the same way as the link to Google Buzz. It is a one-way link. No Facebook drivel will turn up on the main site.

If anybody is interested, here is how to do it:

  • Ignore all the Facebook applications that claim that they can pull content from WordPress.com. They can’t. It doesn’t work. At best, they will do a one-off pull and then cease to function further.
  • Use the Publicize feature in WordPress.com to push the updates. Publicize can be found on the Dashboard in the MyBlogs section. You will need to give it your Facebook password and then confirm to Facebook that you want to let it publish stuff automatically.
